BOSTON — The Celtics remained undefeated in the preseason, blowing out the Hornets on Wednesday at TD Garden. The starters played once again, getting perhaps one final tune-up ahead of the regular season. It was a smooth win for the C’s as they led for the majority of the night.
Derrick White was everywhere on both ends of the floor, making him Wednesday’s Name to Know Player of the Game. The Name to Know Player of the Game is sponsored by John’s Sewer and Drain Cleaning, the Name to Know when your drains don’t flow.
White finished with 17 points, three rebounds, two assists and four steals on the night, shooting 6-for-9 from the floor in his 20 minutes. It was the type of performance that really showed why he’s effective as a two-way player.
All three Celtics centers also had a stellar night. Mitchell Robinson was a force immediately, getting his second straight start. He even hit both free throws on the night. Robinson put up 12 points, seven rebounds and three blocks, ending a perfect 5-for-5 from the floor.

Neemias Queta was also great off the bench with 16 points on 7-for-11 shooting. Luka Garza added 14 points and three steals on 5-for-8 shooting from the floor. It seemed like the Celtics’ playmakers had lobs or dump-offs for the centers all night, leading to the trio getting easy buckets.
The Celtics face the Sixers in their preseason finale, set for 7 p.m. Friday in Philly. There’s a chance the C’s could rest guys after playing their starters for most of their two home preseason games. Boston also rested its starters in the win over Cleveland last week.
