The goals scored by Reinier and Bernard in Atlético’s 3-0 win over Montevideo City Torque on Wednesday (14) at Arena MRV held special significance for both forwards.
With their first-half strikes, both reached ten goals in 2026 and became Galo’s joint top scorers for the season. Cuello follows with nine goals.
Reinier opened the scoring in the 36th minute. After Cuello nutmegged an opponent near midfield and surged down the right, Victor Hugo received the ball and set up the No. 19, who finished calmly.
Five minutes later, Bernard extended Atlético’s lead. On a counterattack involving Reinier, the No. 11 received the ball on the left, cut inside and fired a low shot into the corner.

🏆 Bernard extends his historic Copa Sudamericana tally
As well as reaching ten goals for the season, Bernard scored his fifth goal in the 2026 Copa Sudamericana, cementing his place as Atlético’s top scorer in this edition.
The forward also extended his all-time tally in the competition. He now has seven goals for Galo in the Copa Sudamericana, remaining the club’s leading scorer in the tournament.
Playing in his third continental semifinal for Atlético, Bernard helped secure a first-leg win that gave the team an advantage heading into the return leg in Uruguay.
⚽ Reinier also reaches double figures
Reinier is enjoying his highest-scoring season in an Atlético shirt. The forward has reached ten goals in 2026, three of them in the current edition of the Copa Sudamericana.
In addition to scoring the opener, the No. 19 was involved in the buildup to the second goal, scored by Bernard.

Atlético face Montevideo City Torque again next Wednesday (21) at 7 p.m. at Estádio Centenário in Montevideo, in the decisive second leg of the semifinal.
