Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy maintained his belief in the team Monday after a 7-4 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers left the defending champions trailing 2-0 in the National League Championship Series.

The Dodgers lost both games at American Family Field, putting them two defeats from elimination as the series shifts to L.A.

Dodgers Nation took to X, formerly Twitter, to share SportsNet LA’s video of Muncy acknowledging Milwaukee’s strong play while emphasizing the remaining opportunities.

“There’s still a lot of series left. Obviously, you’d like to come out of here with 1, hopefully 2 but that wasn’t the case this time and they’re playing really well over there.”

Game 3 is Wednesday at Dodger Stadium, where Los Angeles will try to earn its first win in the best-of-seven series.

The Dodgers took multiple early leads Monday but could not hold them. Yoshinobu Yamamoto lasted just 2 2/3 innings, and Milwaukee followed its 2-1 Game 1 victory with another comeback.

Muncy expressed confidence that Yamamoto would bounce back and urged fans to bring a loud atmosphere to Dodger Stadium. The veteran also backed the Dodgers to win three or four straight games.

The 36-year-old entered the NLCS with 19 career postseason home runs, a Dodgers record, after hitting three vs. the Atlanta Braves in the Division Series.

The Brewers secured home-field advantage with an MLB-best 103 wins, finishing three games ahead of the Dodgers.

The Dodgers last faced a 0-2 series deficit in the 2023 NLDS. Los Angeles has recovered from difficult postseason positions before. In 2020, the club overcame 2-0 and 3-1 deficits vs. the Atlanta Braves in the National League Championship Series before going on to win the franchise’s first World Series since 1988. They also recovered from a 3-2 World Series deficit in 2025.

The two-time defending champions now return home needing four victories to advance, with the Brewers holding the series advantage headed into a pivotal Game 3.
