Angel Reese is about to make her WNBA Finals debut in a few days. Ahead of this huge moment, her brother Julian Reese spoke about her impact on their family.
Angel Reese is one of the biggest names in women’s basketball. She has been pivotal in taking the Atlanta Dream to the 2026 WNBA Finals, where they will face off against the Golden State Valkyries. It is a big moment for the 24-year-old, and also for her family.
Reese’s younger brother, Julian, has followed in her footsteps into professional basketball. He is yet to find his footing in the NBA, currently playing with the New Orleans Pelicans and their G League affiliate, the Laketown Squadron. The siblings share a great relationship, and Julian clearly has a lot of love for his older sister.
Julian Reese spoke highly of Angel Reese and revealed the ‘best advice’ she has given him
There is only a one-year difference between the two siblings. They have been chasing their dreams together for most of their lives. Angel’s success has been evident, although Julian showed he can ball out too when he got an opportunity last year.

In 13 games with the Washington Wizards during the 2025-26 season, the younger Reese averaged 11.8 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. Now that he has another opportunity to prove he belongs in the league, he has addressed his sister’s impact on their family, as well as his career.
“It’s been great. Very inspirational and I’ve learned a lot,” Julian told reporters when asked about this moment for Angel and their family. “She’s inspiring me to be great here. Just proving everybody wrong and living out her dream, and that is just a blessing.”
Asked about the best advice she’s ever given him, Reese added, “Basically, just to stay ready. Last year, I got called up a little bit in the season. Just staying ready, took advantage of my opportunity. Now I got another opportunity in New Orleans. So, basically just staying ready and attacking and doing everything to help the team win.”
Angel’s advice may sound basic, but it is what a lot of athletes can struggle with as they try to make their journey to the top. If Reese can somehow help the Dream win it all, it will be another achievement for her family to be proud of and for Julian to get inspired by.
