Texas volleyball dropped a bit more in Monday’s American Volleyball Coaches Association rankings.
The Longhorns (8-6, 4-2) fell one spot to No. 12 in the country. The Longhorns beat Arkansas 3-1 but then were swept Sunday by unranked Oklahoma; the Sooners did not crack the rankings despite getting 36 votes.
An interesting appearance in the top 25 is Vanderbilt at No. 24. The Commodores played their first season last year after a 45-season hiatus. After receiving 13 votes last week, Vanderbilt swept Auburn and upset Florida 3-1 to make the rankings.
Texas returns to Austin to play 11-6 Auburn at 6:30 p.m. Friday night at Gregory Gymnasium.
