Michael Page reveals his Misfits pay in comparison to UFC pay

Michael Page got a big upgrade in pay with his departure from the UFC.

According to the former Bellator title challenger and UFC contender, he’s making twice as much money, and with more flexibility, now with Misfits, KSI’s fighting promotion based in the U.K. Page fought out his contract with the UFC a few months back, and despite having a 5-1 record in the octagon and wanting to stay with the promotion, the UFC chose not to renew him to a new deal. Just last week, Misfits and Page put ink on paper, and the Englishman is delighted with how it all worked out.

“Misfits, they came with a crazy deal, an absolutely crazy deal – which means I’ve continued to grow and get better financially,” Michael Page told Ariel Helwani. “Also, KSI is my boy, and I’ve worked alongside the Misfits guys before with some of my teammates who have fought, in corners, my coaches have worked with them as well. So yeah, their vision for the future as well, what they are trying to do. They’re looking to get an MMA show, and me kind of lead the way and be the face of that. It’s a lot of exciting stuff as well as a better payday.”

Page said he’s getting paid seven figures per fight, and he’s signed to a three-fight deal. Those fights could be in boxing or MMA. The deal with Misfits is exclusive, but Page can compete in grappling, just not striking outside of Misfits. The deal also has an expiration of 18 months, which doesn’t tie him down for a long time.

“I left the UFC and I’m making more money,” Page said. “Like two times more, and in a short period. It’s a three-fight deal, and in this three-fight deal, I’ll make more than I made for my whole UFC contract.”

As far as the type of competition he could be facing at Misfits, Page is already thinking big. He’s got a couple of U.K. names in mind as well as a former interim UFC champion.

“I think Darren Till still has a fight left with them (BKFC), you would have to speak to him, but I think that’s a great fight – in MMA or boxing, that’s the great thing,” Page explained. “He’s done so well in boxing. I don’t know if he’s happy to stay there either or, he’s game. … Tommy Fury is only going to be in boxing, I can see that fight happening as well. I know he’s got a couple of fights with them as well. I don’t want to have to beat up (Tony) Ferguson, but if he steps forward, then he will get run over. (Nate) Diaz, again, if he’s still available and wants to fight. And again, I feel like I’m going to attract more people, so we will see who else.”
