Luke Shaw and Kobbie Mainoo are both absent from Manchester United’s open training session this morning.
The players are currently undergoing their final preparations at Carrington before making the trip to the Spanish capital for Tuesday evening’s clash with Atletico Madrid.

Journalist Katherine Walsh shared footage of the squad making their way out to the grass today, before adding that Mainoo and Shaw will need to be ‘assessed’ to determine whether they can be involved tomorrow night.
Should either be ruled out, it would come as a substantial blow to Michael Carrick, who is already desperate for a turnaround in form following his side’s lacklustre start.
Mainoo played the full 90 minutes of Saturday’s draw with Tottenham Hotspur, which could perhaps indicate his issue is not a serious one.
Over the international break, he withdrew from the England squad after picking up a knock at Craven Cottage.

As for Shaw, he was spotted walking gingerly out of Old Trafford after the full-time whistle over the weekend.
He did start the contest with Spurs and lasted until injury time before being hooked, with Gary Neville remarking on commentary that it was a concern that the full-back was unable to see out the full match.
The problem with the Englishman currently is that if he is unavailable, it remains to be seen who would deputise, as both Patrick Dorgu and Noussair Mazraoui are sidelined themselves.
Presumably, Diogo Dalot would be next in line to fill in at left-back while Leny Yoro occupies the right-back role as he did two days ago.
If not, 19-year-old Harry Amass could be called upon to make a rare start.
