When the Philadelphia Eagles head into Week 6, they’ll likely do so with their fourth-string running back as their starter. Third-string running back Will Shipley reportedly sustained a partial tear of his plantar fascia during Sunday’s game and is expected to miss weeks due to the injury, according to ESPN.
Shipley sustained the injury early in the team’s 19-17 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.

The injury leaves the Eagles exceptionally thin at running back. Starter Saquon Barkley missed Week 5 due to an injured hamstring and backup Tank Bigsby was placed on injured reserve ahead of the contest due to a core muscle issue.
With Shipley reportedly facing a multi-week absence, Dameon Pierce will likely get more work moving forward.
