The Florida State Seminoles looked like they were going to pull off their first road win in nearly three years against the Louisville Cardinals on Friday. After taking a 14-0 lead, they got outscored 44-6 the rest of the way, and it ended up being a very lopsided loss.
FSU struggled on third down, going just seven for 17, and they also didn’t fully take advantage of Louisville’s poor run defense with just 3.9 yards per rushing attempt. After the first quarter, the Seminoles simply had no consistent rhythm on offense, and once it was clear that they weren’t going to score that much more, the Cardinals opened up the floodgates.
Several Florida State players did do their best to contribute. Here were their top offensive players against Louisville.
Ousmane Kromah
Kromah should’ve had over 150 yards in this game with how FSU was running the ball to start the game. Nonetheless, he registered 88 yards rushing on 19 carries, and he also added 43 yards on four receptions. He continued what’s been a very productive season in which he’s gained 565 rushing yards and five scores in six games.
Micahi Danzy
The speedster made the best play of the game for Florida State offensively with a one-handed catch that put the Seminoles up 14-0 in the first quarter. Danzy would finish as the team leader with 50 yards receiving and two touchdowns, which are his only scores this season. He’s now tied for the team lead in receiving touchdowns with Duce Robinson and running back Sam Singleton Jr., who is out.
Ashton Daniels
Daniels didn’t dazzle at all against Louisville, but he did end up with three total touchdowns (one rushing, two passing) for the game. He has twice as many rushing scores as Kromah with 10 thanks to the five he had against the Virginia Cavaliers a week ago, and he’s also FSU’s second leading rusher for the season with 323 yards.
