The Pittsburgh Steelers provided some great news on the availability of a surprise addition to the Week 5 game status report for Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts.

According to Steelers Senior Director of Communications Burt Lauten, defensive lineman Yahya Black (personal), who was deemed questionable earlier in the day, was upgraded to have no designation for the Week 5 game versus the Colts.

“Yahya Black (personal) is no longer questionable and is expected to play tomorrow vs. IND,” Lauten wrote via X.

Black, who was drafted by the Steelers in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, performed admirably as a rookie, playing in 17 games and making three starts in his debut season. In Year 2, Black has appeared in four games so far this season, playing 35% of defensive snaps and 39% of special teams snaps.

It’s unknown what Black’s personal designation referred to, but we at Steelers Wire are thrilled he’ll be available in Week 5. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for one of the Steelers’ veteran wide receivers, who was added to injured reserve less than 24 hours before Sunday’s game against the Colts.
