Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson will miss Sunday night’s game against the Atlanta Falcons with an ankle sprain, head coach Jesse Minter announced.
Jackson suffered a sprained ankle during Baltimore’s 24-18 win over the Tennessee Titans last week. He did not return to the field for the second half and was spotted leaving the locker room in a walking boot.
Minter had said that Jackson didn’t necessarily need to practice in order to be available. There was reportedly an “outside” chance he wouldn’t miss any time, but after not practicing this week the team decided to rule him out.

Tyler “Snoop” Huntley will get the start. Huntley went 8-of-9 passing for 63 yards and added 16 rushing yards after coming in to the injured Jackson.
“I mean, look, there is only one Lamar Jackson,” Minter said this week about Huntley. “I think Snoop as a backup quarterback in this league, and even as a starter at times, has shown the ability to come in and really kind of run the offense, make plays with his legs and be able to make plays on third down.”
Since Jackson became the Ravens’ full-time starter in 2019, the team has gone 6-11 in games he’s missed.
Following Sunday’s game in Atlanta, the Ravens have two divisional matchups in Weeks 6 and 7 against the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals. They are not on their bye until Week 13.
