Well we did it! We’re still undefeated and off to our hottest start since 2016.
I know what you’re thinking, you’re thinking that will come to an end when the Huskers face the 7th and 5th ranked Hoosiers.
I hate to tell you this, but you are so very wrong. The Huskers are going to come through with a big win this week.
These are your reasons why:
#1 THIS HUSKER TEAM DOESN’T GIVE UP
In the past ten or more years, Husker fans have become accustom to a team that seems to give up when things aren’t going their way. There have been times when they seem to be cruising along, and then bam something goes wrong and everything else falls apart too.
This year we’ve seen a much more resilient team. Last week when they were down, and the yellow flags kept flying they didn’t give up. They were able to score quick in the last minutes of the first half and take that momentum with them into the second half.
Indiana won’t be easy, but this team is going to fight to the end.
#2 ANTHONY COLANDREA
I know I put him on here every week, but that’s because he is a big key to the Husker’s success. Last week he had some key plays to help the Huskers win the game. He is the spark that gets the offense going when nothing else seems to. Last week he had a 51 yard run and this fun hurdle:
Not to mention, the connection between Colandrea and Kwazi Gilmer is awesome and it seems to be getting better each week.
#3 JAMAL RULE IS BACK
Jamal Rule has been out with an injury for most of the first two Big Ten games. It has shown as Nebraska’s rushing attack has not been as strong without him.
He’s back this week and will be ready to face the seventh ranked rushing defense in the country. Indiana only allows on average 64.4 rushing yards a game, but Jamal Rule is going to get that on his own.
#4 THAT HUSKER DEFENSE
The Blackshirts have a big test on their hands as they will face off against one of the best offenses in the country, but if there is one thing this defense has shown, it’s the ability to make adjustments.
Early in the Maryland game, the Husker defense was on it’s heals, but instead of collapsing they made adjustments and shut down the Terps offense.
These defenders also play smart and are going to force some takeaways from an Indiana offense that has only allowed one all season long.
#5 FAIRNESS FROM OFFICIALS
I’ve heard it from a very reliable source that the officials feels really bad about all of those penalties that they called on the Huskers last week. They’ve decided that to make up for it they are only going to call penalties on Indiana and they are going to do in the most drive-killing fashion.
I know it seems like that’s made up, but it’s true. Just contact my source. I’ll leave their number in the comments.
See you next week when the Huskers are 6-0.
GOOOOOOO BIGGGGGG REEEDDDDD!
