IMSA Petit Le Mans red-flagged for lightning

The Motul Petit Le Mans was stopped for a minimum 30-minute weather hold because of lightning near Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship officials displayed the red flag and brought the cars to the pit lane with about 6 hours and 25 minutes remaining. The clock continues to run on the 10-hour race while under red.
The red flag was lifted just past the four-hour mark at aroud 4:15 p.m. ET. Colin Braun was leading the Grand Touring Prototype category in the No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing Acura ARX-06.
In LMP2, Parker Thompson was in the first place with the No. 52 Bryan Herta Autosport with PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports ORECA. In GTD Pro, Tommy Milner was first i the No. 4 Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports and Albert Costa (Conquest Racing) led the production-based ranks.
The race began shortly after noon under inclement weather, but the track dried fairly quickly before the return of midafternoon storms.
