“College GameDay” didn’t even need to wait for the Week 5 college football schedule to announce its Week 6 destination.
The premier college football pregame show is heading to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, for an undefeated meeting of top-10 teams in No. 7 Alabama and No. 2 Georgia. The Crimson Tide and Bulldogs had already polished off 56-23 and 38-14 wins over No. 16 Mississippi State and Vanderbilt, respectively, at the time “GameDay” made its announcement.

It is the second time since 2024 that “GameDay” will head to the Alabama-Georgia football game. The last time Nick Saban, Kirk Herbstreit, Rece Davis and Co. were in tow, Alabama squeaked out a 41-34 win over Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs, punctuated with a 75-yard touchdown catch by a 17-year-old Ryan Williams.
Curiously, “GameDay” did not attend last season’s meeting between the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide, a 24-21 Alabama win. It instead went to University Park, Pennsylvania, for a double-overtime win by No. 6 Oregon over No. 3 Penn State.
The Alabama-Georgia game beat out other stiff competition in Week 6, including the Red River Rivalry between No. 1 Texas and Oklahoma; No. 23 UCLA at No. 15 Oregon; and No. 5 Indiana at Nebraska.
“GameDay’s” trip to Tuscaloosa also comes as President Donald Trump announced his intent to attend the game on Oct. 10. A University of Alabama spokesperson told The Tuscaloosa News on Oct. 2 that they were unaware that any visit from Trump was confirmed, but that it was a possibility.
