You’ve got to see this. The New Orleans Saints produced a must-see hype video for Monday night’s game with the Atlanta Falcons — narrated by Saints legends Curtis Deloatch and Steve Gleason. Gleason, of course, blocked an early punt against the Falcons twenty years ago in the “Rebirth” game that New Orleans is celebrating. It was Deloatch who recovered that blocked punt and returned it for a touchdown, lighting up the home crowd and powering the Saints to a 23-3 win.
“I can still close my eyes and hear that crowd. That day, you could feel it in your soul, man,” Deloatch began.
That victorious return to the Superdome, the first home game played in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina flooded the city and devastated the region, remains one of the most emotional moments in NFL history. It was a cathartic experience for people who had lost so much and spent a year trying to piece themselves back together. Seeing their team get a win in prime time proved to be a light at the end of that long dark tunnel. The decades since have been filled with the winnginest years Saints fans have ever seen.
“Let’s stamp a new page into the history books,” Gleason added, using the innovative text-to-speech generator that’s given him a voice during his lifelong battle with ALS.

Twenty years ago, the world heard New Orleans roar again.
Same Dome. Same Rival. Same Monday night stage.
