Lamar spoils senior night to stay undefeated over Cassville

CASSVILLE, MO – A clash of two titans set the stage for senior night, as Cassville welcomed the fellow undefeated Lamar Tigers on Friday night – though the hosts would eventually fall 28-21.
A defensive battle saw a low scoring output from the two sides in the first half. However, a blocked punt that was returned for a score and a touchdown pass to Lamar’s Terren Williams in the half’s final minute saw the Tigers head to the locker room with a 14-0 lead.
The latter half contained much more fireworks than the former, as Cassville was able to rattle off 21 points before the final whistle. Though Lamar was able to outlast their challengers, taking the game and staying undefeated on the season.
Lamar, newly 6-0, heads home next week to host Mount Vernon under the lights. While Cassville looks to get back into the win column with a struggling Miller Career Academy/Sumner squad.
