England defender Nico O’Reilly has returned to Manchester City and will not feature in the remainder of the international camp due to injury.
O’Reilly played 90 minutes in last Saturday’s Nations League opener against Spain, making a mistake in the build-up to the visitors’ equalizer, but missed Tuesday’s win in the Czech Republic after picking up an issue in training.
With England set to play their third game against Croatia on Saturday, the left back has returned to his club for “further assessment.”
The Football Association confirmed in a statement there will be no call-ups to the squad for the game in Rijeka or next Tuesday’s clash with the Czechs at Wembley.
O’Reilly’s absence looks to give Lewis Hall another chance to impress at left back.
The Newcastle defender played 90 minutes in Prague on Tuesday and is set to wear the shirt again in Saturday’s behind-closed-doors game.
